I am a strong believer that no one makes it alone! That includes businesses and individuals. As such, Julie Atlas Photography is dedicated to giving back to communities.
We are dedicated to supporting organizations that are active doing great things to support others. As a company and personally I generally partner with organizations supporting children, families and healthy relationships. If you believe your organization would benefit through collaboration, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Children's Home Society helps children find their forever homes through adoption. They also run an amazing program called My Path Forward, which helps young adults find their path to adulthood after aging out of the foster care system. Since 2020 we have partnered with CHS to provide Santa and Soul Santa portraits as a fundraiser to benefit foster care initiatives for CHS.
Julie is a volunteer photographer with Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep. The organization offers bereavement photography services to support parents and families experiencing the loss of a baby. These services are provided at no charge to the families. The portraits taken are used to provide comfort and healing for families during their time difficult time. Julie’s calling to this organization was in remembrance of William Parker (12/23/2015- 12/25/2015), the son of Nick and Debbie Parker. William made a difference in his short life as his death inspired the creation of laws governing the rights of parents and babies that led to the passing of William's Law in the states of Virginia and Connecticut.
Julie sits on the board for The Brass Ring Project. The Brass Ring Project helps students pave a path forward following high school that will enable them to thrive in work that fits their unique abilities, personality and interests. We believe that all students should have access to professionals who can guide them through the process of determining their future path and assist in navigating the daunting higher education landscape. The Brass Ring Project wants to help level the playing field.
Julie is a member of the Community Action Advisory Board for the Fatherhood Foundation of VA. The Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to building the fundamental element of strong communities - healthy relationships, marriages and active fathers. It takes effort to build a relationship, but the rewards are worth it.
